When I first saw this CD packaging, two things instantly came to mind- Archie comics and Casper the friendly Ghost (the Movie).

The floating guy (Roots Manuva) does look a bit like Chuck Clayton from Archies, don’t you agree? And the mansion reminds me of Casper’s house with the red carpet and drapes.

The man behind this  intricate, comic-style artwork is the respectable, very talented Tony McDermott.

He is the designer behind many of the awesome illustrations on London-based reggae label, Greensleeves. Below are some of his works for Greensleeves and I must say I honestly love all of them.

The album’s wonderful artwork reflects the music in the CD-The album is filled with mostly electronic dub reggae vibes.

The album is largely a series of re-works of Roots Manuva’s songs by a talented producer who goes by the name Wrong Tom. Duppy Writer collects these new versions, offering new, dubbed out takes on classic Manuva tracks.

You can purchase Duppy Writer here.
