Band Promotion: Put Some Thought Into Your Sticker Designs

Are you a new indie band looking for offline ways to market your music? Here’s my tip:  Give out kick-ass stickers! When I say give out, I mean you give them for FREE to anyone and everyone! Consider having a very cool sticker as a wise investment for your music career. It is a big plus because it’s an affordable way to advertise your band and establish your image. Some people will stick them to their cars, mirrors, guitars and those people who see the cars, mirrors, guitars with your sticker would somehow remember the name of your band. When they encounter your name the second time, there’s a bigger chance they’d check you out. A good recall is always good.

If you’re still new in the scene, I suggest you make your band name the main focus of your design unless you reach the level of Rolling Stones where they need not put their names in their stickers. Make it simple and readable like Panic at the Disco’s. I also do not suggest that you use acronyms like Dave Matthews Band (DMB), or Broken Social Scene (BSS) unless you’re really, really known for that. You can give your band stickers during shows, or include a few stickers in your album, or even leave some in school bathrooms.

To inspire you, here are some cool band stickers I collected online:
