Do you need your DVDs fast? Then you better make sure you won’t have issues with artwork because it’s one of the top causes of delay. The actual DVD duplication (as in the actual printing and duplication work) just takes a week or even less. What takes up time is the checking of artwork, revisions, and other technical stuff. Make sure you have reviewed the copy of your artwork, the labels, the sizes, etc. to avoid delays and avoid unnecessary duplication expenses.
Do all of these to prevent manufacturing delays:
Plan ahead
Do not expect to get your CDs in a week if you still have no artwork. You should already have the artwork before you contact us if you are in a rush. We do have a team of graphic designers who can assist you with artwork. In that case, you should have your materials (high-res photos, etc) and concept ready.
Know what you want
We’ve worked with some of clients who are in such a rush but they keep changing and adding new stuff to their artwork. There’s nothing wrong with 1000 revisions as long as we’re not in a rush.
Use our Templates
We have templates for each of our CD and DVD cases so make sure you’ve downloaded the correct template from our site. If you don’t follow the templates, we might send back the artwork you submitted so you can edit it. We cannot start manufacturing unless you followed the templates 100%.
Remove Template layers
Make sure template layers are removed from uploaded designs.
High-Resolution Photos
The resolution of your artwork must not be less than 300dpi. Anything below this would not look good. We cannot fix resolution problems so make sure you inform your designers and photographers beforehand.
Make sure you have BLEED and SAFETY MARGINS
Bleed is the extension of artwork beyond the cut line which gives the printers a margin of error when trimming the sheets. Make sure your artwork has 1/8-inch bleed on all sides. Safety Margin are required to prevent cutting off some important parts of your artwork (text, images, logos). Make sure all essential elements are within the safety margin?
Submit the fonts you used
When submitting your artwork, make sure you also send us the fonts you used in the artwork so the artwork we’ll receive would be 100% the same as the one you have.
Place the Bar Code and Logos on a viewable surface
We do not want another revision just because of improper placement of logos and barcodes.
Good Communication
Be strict with your team in a professional way. Make sure that you inform the graphic designer with artwork revisions and that you communicate to your DVD duplication house’s inquiries clearly and quickly.
