Our clients at Atlas Films, the wonderful talented crew who brought us Tapped the Movie, were on the O’ Reilly Factor the other day. In case you haven’t seen it, you should because it’s one of the most awesome and most convincing environmental films I’ve ever seen. I am not kidding and I am not promoting this movie simply because they’re our client. This movie totally changed my world!
Since I watched Tapped, I have never drank out of a plastic water bottle. That’s pretty good going because I did see Super Size Me and I still eat lots of big macs. Sue me! Plus, the fact that it’s so easy to drink out of a plastic water bottle because they are everywhere. I wasn’t even using will power to resist it, I simply lost the urge.
I think the people behind Tapped are way ahead of their time. Everybody is talking about it right now and one of the guests from the movie was on Dave Letterman Show the other night. There is even a talk that Tapped will be reviewed by Oprah. We also created some Eco-shirts for them, posters, fliers, Eco DVDs. We went out to some of the festivals and set up booths for them – so we have seen first-hand how huge this is. Great job guys!
Watch this movie and tell me that JOHN STOSSEL, from FOX NEWS BUSINESS News is not a complete douche. My favorite line from him is when he said ” Yeah we have plenty of landfills in America and they are getting used up correctly” The other one is where he says that plastic biodegrades just like small Styrofoam cups. What a tool! It’s a fact and you don’t need a Phd is Plasticology to work it out – PLASTIC IS BAD FOR US AND FOR THE ENVIRONMENT! Lots of researches show that plastic that makes it into our landfills DO NOT BIODEGRADE QUICKLY. In fact, it can take up to 10 years or even longer.
Why don’t we all go to STOSSEL’s garden, dig a really big hole and fill it with Plastic and see how he likes it!! Stick it Stossel!
Talking about saving the planet, we at Unified are guilty just as much as other industries. So we started a recycling program with The CD Recycling Center of America. Here are some of the stuff we do to ensure that our plant is doing its part.
1.We designate a small collection/storage area in our facility
2.We disassemble and sort out components/materials (i.e., do not mix discs with cases or paper)
3.We recycle internal waste, returns, and rejects
4.We clean-out overstock, obsolete, and overrun products.
5.We ship all of our leftover plastic waste to The Recycling Center
What about you? What have you done to save our planet? You do not have to do something ultra revolutionary or remarkable. You are doing a big change just by doing simple acts like using an eco-bag or not throwing trash anywhere. To quote Jason Mraz, “When you think Globally – Act Locally. Just Be In the Game.”
