Why should an indie band put their album on vinyl? It’s the coolest format.not everyone can have access to it.if you don’t want your music to go everywhere,it’s one way of having control over your product. Will vinyl ever die? “No. Absolutely not. It’s too wonderful of a medium.” says Thomas Bernich, owner of a Vinyl pressing factory called Brooklyn Phono. The 1960s is the golden age of vinyl. In the 80’s CDs hit the market and people start to prefer its convenience of CDs and a decade later when computer downloads enter the scene, it seems that the Vinyl LPs is on its way to extinction. But the classic format never disappeared because the sound quality is much better compared to digital. As a matter of fact, vinyl had a “rebirth” and became cutting edge again two years ago with millions of record sold in 2008. Jason, who runs the production line says that the difference between vinyl and digital music is like comparing a gourmet dinner to fastfood. For him, it’s got to do not only with the sound but with the ritual of playing the record and also just the whole packaging.it’s like a gift everytime you open it.
