his blog before his music. (update: he deactivated it after his breakup with TP.wtf). A friend of mine recommended his site two years ago and since then, I’ve been a follower of his blog…and about a month’s time of reading his stuff, I started liking his music. Before that, I wasn’t such a die-hard fan of his music and his greatness. For me, he was just another happy-dappy musician with a guitar. But when I started reading his blog, I was amazed by his experiences, his struggles as an artist, his attempts to have a laid-back lifestyle, his fun experiences while on tour, his erratic sleeping patterns, and even his love for arcade games. Reading a blog of someone famous creates a kind of intimacy to the readers—it makes us feel like we know something important about the artist that not most people know. This makes us interested in the artist’s music and we start to develop a feeling of ownership-that we have more right to appreciate his music because we know more about him. If you are a musician, it would greatly help you build a solid fanbase if you broadcast your life and philosophies online. Do not simply update your blog with the schedule of your gigs or your latest album, write something personal to slowly build a connection to your fans and would-be fans. Blogging is a great strategy to gain more fans and you should utilize it now before it gets overused. Good Luck!;-) _______________________________________________________________________ Unified Manufacturing is an L.A. -based one-stop-shop that offers very affordable CD/DVD/USB replication, custom printing, promotional products, warehousing and fulfillment and many more.
