Your potential customers are bombarded by thousands of advertising images every day from the moment they wake up to the time they hit their beds.
You have to find a way to get through all the noise to have your message heard by your target audience. For musicians, this means that you have to find a way for current fans to share your latest music video so their like-minded friends can see it.
For business owners, your potential customer have already searched on Google to find solutions to their problems before they even contact you. This means you have to enhance your online presence (and make sure you’re not all over the place!).
Your business must be proactive to engage with your target audience to compel them to reach out to you.
Here are some ways you can really get their attention amidst all the noise:
Table of Contents
REALLY GOOD STUFF
First of all, whatever it is you’re selling (music, art, products), make sure it’s really good. That’s the number one way to get people’s attention.
That’s also the number one way to keep people talking about you.
CREATE COMPELLING CONTENT
Once you find out what your target audience searches for online (keywords) and in real life, you can create the content that draws them to you.
This means great articles that provide real solutions. Make sure your content is not mainly selling your stuff, make sure they’re: a.) entertaining or b.) useful.
If they’re not engaging, you’ll just be wasting your money and your target audience’s time.
TESTIMONIALS
Let real people (or celebs if you can make it possible) promote your stuff by saying something good about your product/company, and posting good reviews on their Facebook or Twitter.
If a customer is happy, just e-mail them to give you a review. Remind them to link to your Facebook page or website.
PROVIDE TRAINING VIDEOS AND MANUALS
Train your customers how to use your product or service to get the most productivity from it.
You want your customers to come back to you even after they have made a purchase. Use the multiple mediums that are available to you to connect with your audience.
You have many different options, social media, eBooks, mail campaigns, videos, DVDs, CDs, and more. If you’re a musician or a visual artist, provide quick training videos.
PAMPER CURRENT CUSTOMERS
You need to remember to take care of current customers and gain new ones at the same time. It is easy to spread yourself too thin in your marketing campaign and forget to take care of your current clientele.
Send them e-mails once in a while asking them how they’ve been. You can also give them freebies and perks. Pamper them like a baby.
BE CONSISTENT
Provide new content and information on a regular basis.
You need consistency to engage with your target audience. Instead of making seven posts in one day, and then not doing anything for another week on your social media, make one vital post every day that will interest your readers.
Going very active one moment and then going very silent the next reflects a lot about you. They’ll start to lose interest.
It takes a lot of effort to get people’s attention nowadays because of e-mails, Facebook, Twitter, and a lot more. Luckily, the things that make it hard are also the same things that make it easy.
With good research, a pinch of creativity, and 100% consistency, you can utilize these tools efficiently. And through time, it won’t be too hard to get their attention and loyalty.
